In Thailand, all males turning twenty-one must participate in the military draft lottery. Drawing a black card grants exemption. Drawing a red card results in two year military service. Gripping documentary short Draft Day follows two girls, who were born as males, as they participate in the drafting process. Surprisingly, the Thai military are impressively un-phased by the multitude of transgender people who show up on the day of the draft. Nevertheless, the viewer finds themselves holding their breaths as the critical moment is reached and we find out along with these two "ladyboys" whether their lives will change forever.
